Matthew Thomeczek won the 2024 Future Chef title on March 13, when he captured the taste buds of the judges with his Wack-A-Moly, guacamole recipe.
There were 12, fifth-grade competitors from Bell Creek Intermediate in total and we had judges from around the community come to support and lend a helping hand to the competition.
There are even former competitors and winners who come back and serve as coaches to the chefs during the competition.
Nutrition Services Coordinator Jennifer Hoehn organized the event as she has for several years. Though there was a hiatus during the COVID-19 epidemic, the competition returned during the 2022-23 school year.
