English/Language Arts Text Books Up for Public Review
Come and ask questions and see what students will be learning in the field of English/Language Arts across the district, grades K-12, during a Textbook Adoption Public Review. The Science of Reading program has been adopted by the state of Ohio, so curriculum adoption in alignment with this evidence-based research as well as the resulting classroom instructional methods is now law.

AFJROTC Receives Distinguished Unit Award for Community Work
The Bellbrook High School AFJROTC received a Distinguished Unit Award for its community service work this past year. The BHS unit was one of 244 units across the country to earn the award as they racked up nearly 1,600 community service hours between April of 2023 and 2024.

High School Drones Teams Claim Third Consecutive National Title
The Hog Flyers swept almost all the subcategories to win the Drones in Schools National Championship in May during a trip to San Diego, California. The Hog Flyers won head-to-head racing, the Capture the Flag event, the high school marketing video, high school portfolio and display and design and engineering.

Bellbrook Lacrosse Team Primed to Play in State Tournament

A 16-14 win over Fenwick Thursday night pushed the Bellbrook Golden Eagles onto the Division II state tournament. The Eagles (13-3) will face DeSales – a 14-13 winner over Bishop Watterson in the Regional Final – on June 5 at 7 p.m. at Chaminade-Julienne’s Roger Glass Stadium.

Two Middle Schoolers Break Track and Field Records
Two Bellbrook Middle Schoolers broke track records this season, one of them longstanding, and one who broke her own record from last year. Jemia Wheaton broke the shot put record, besting a record set in 1976 and Raegan Arndt broke her own record in the pole vault.

Board Approves Contracts, Textbooks, Honors Retirees
The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Board of Education got a lot done at its May 9 meeting at Bellbrook Middle School, including adopting two new textbooks, approving contracts with both unions and honoring several retirees. The board also heard a presentation on the Science of Reading from Stephen Bell Principal Ginger Keeton, teachers Paige Rose and Heather Hebrank and Literacy Coach Rebecca Campbell.
